Discovering Club Med Resorts
In September 2024, we visited the Club Med in Charlevoix, Quebec, Canada. This location is mainly a ski resort, and we traveled there during the off-season. We were unsure of what to expect, but we immediately felt welcomed and embraced the Club Med atmosphere of freedom. The environment was relaxed, with people simply enjoying their vacation.
Activities Galore
We participated in hiking on the ski hill, and there were options for horseback riding and whale watching, among other activities. The food was undoubtedly the best we've ever had at an all-inclusive resort, possibly anywhere! We reviewed the winter activities, and although we don't ski, they offered dog sledding, a long tube run, and later in the year, maple syrup events. Yoga is a consistent focus, as with most Club Meds.
We indulged in the beautiful pool and spa area. It made me consider that visiting the Alps during the off-season and staying at Club Med resorts there or in Japan or China could be quite enjoyable. In winter, skiing and snowboarding are included, along with sledding (tobogganing), and lift tickets are part of the package. You can bring your own equipment or rent it on-site. In the summer, mountain bikes are also available.

Tropical Bliss in Turks and Caicos
In April 2025, we visited our first tropical Club Med destination. We opted for Turks and Caicos because its beach is consistently ranked among the top in the world. Since Club Med introduced Turks to the resort scene and contributed to the airport's development, they secured the prime beachfront location.
An Unforgettable Experience
The experience lived up to expectations, with the food being remarkable once again! The package includes the chance to snorkel twice daily, weather permitting, with transport provided by boat from the resort. The resort features 289 rooms spread over 34 hectares. Available activities include fitness, pickleball, tennis, yoga, flying trapeze, sailing, snorkeling, kayaking, and stand-up paddleboarding.

Punta Cana: A Beautiful Retreat
In May, we traveled to Punta Cana before attending a conference at a different resort. We were amazed by the Club's beauty and size. It features 613 rooms spread across 42 hectares. Even though it can accommodate over 2,000 guests, the layout is so spacious that you hardly feel the crowd.
Spacious and Inviting
One aspect we appreciate about Club Med is that their tropical resorts typically have buildings of three stories or less; there are no high-rise structures here. Punta Cana offers golf, and not just mini-golf! Additionally, it features the famous Flying Trapeze that Club Med is known for. Activities like yoga, archery, fitness, tennis, pickleball, dance classes, sailing, kayaking, and paddleboarding are all included.
There are also other activities like scuba diving and wingfoil available for an additional fee. It's worth mentioning that Club Med constructed the airport in Punta Cana, which explains any similarities you might notice.

Celebrating at Miches, DR
In June, we attended a 75th anniversary celebration at the newest Club Med in the Caribbean, located in Miches, DR. This stunning spot is about an hour and a half from the Punta Cana airport, accessible via a road that Club Med helped construct, making the journey less tiring than before.
Nature Meets Luxury
The resort beautifully combines jungle and ocean, as they removed and then replanted trees after constructing the buildings, immersing guests in the jungle—truly remarkable! I'm particularly eager to see the South Africa resort once it's complete, as it will blend jungle, ocean, beach, and safari experiences. I can hardly wait.
This resort features 335 rooms across 38 hectares. Included activities are yoga, trapeze, archery, fitness, tennis, pickleball, dance lessons, stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking, wingfoil, and wingsurfing. For an additional fee, guests can enjoy electric surfing and kitesurfing. Other notable offerings include cooking lessons, minigolf, boules, table tennis, and numerous excursions and spa services available for a fee.
Although I haven't specifically mentioned food in the last two sections, it's worth noting that all Club Meds are renowned for their culinary excellence. So far, they have offered the best food among the all-inclusive resorts we've visited.

Cancun: A Relaxing Getaway
Just this past week (September 2025), we visited Cancun. They also played a role in opening the airport there, as they were among the original three resorts in Cancun in the late '70s. This resort features 501 rooms spread over 7 hectares.
Expansive and Inviting
While not as large as the resorts in the Dominican Republic, it's a significant area for Cancun. The resort feels even more expansive because it spans both the ocean and a lagoon, with part of the ocean being a national park. Essentially, they are located on a national park reserve, and the entry fee is included in your stay.
As with any Club Med, all food and drinks are included, whether you're at the beach, in the mountains, or in town. They offer yoga, fitness classes, pickleball, trapeze, archery, tennis, mini golf, sailing, snorkeling (right onto the reef, you can literally walk in), kayaking, and paddleboarding. Scuba diving is available for an additional fee, also directly from the resort, with easy access to the water.
Tracy and I probably had the most relaxing four days we've ever experienced! Perhaps it's because we visited five resorts in one year and are finally getting the hang of it.
