Celebrating Life Through Travel
These past few weeks, I’ve been asked about our story that led me to the travel business. Sometimes, it’s easy to lose sight of what started the journey.
Tracy (my wife) and I had been married just a few months when we received the shocking news: Tracy had breast cancer. As you can imagine, it was a stressful first year of marriage. As we neared our first anniversary, we wanted to do something special. We also wanted to celebrate the wonderful news that Tracy was cancer-free after radiation and other treatments.
Our First Adventure
We hadn’t traveled much beyond some mission trips and visiting friends or family. So, we asked around for suggestions. A friend recommended a cruise to Bermuda. I had heard of Bermuda from TV shows, and it sounded amazing! When Tracy told me we’d be leaving from Baltimore to cruise to Bermuda, I thought there must be a mistake since Baltimore seemed landlocked.
We went on the cruise and ended up in the lowest cabin category, an interior cabin that was probably close to the motors. Despite that, we had a fantastic time! Tracy often jokes that we’re not sure how we actually paid for it, but it was a great celebration.
Discovering Our Passion for Cruising
This experience ignited our love for cruising. Over the next three years, Tracy saved and sold a lot of Mary Kay products. We took her parents and then mine on cruises to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversaries.
A New Direction
As I found myself with some extra time, Tracy encouraged me to be more productive. Since we had enjoyed travel so much, I decided to become a travel advisor. I wanted to help others experience the joy of travel, just as we had. That was late 2018.
It’s important to step back and remember what started this journey. What a journey it has been! I love helping people explore new places and celebrate life.
Living the Dream
Now, I’m a full-time travel advisor. I have opportunities to visit new places all over the world. I get to try out new vendors, resorts, and cruise ships. I love helping others experience and enjoy this incredible earth, literally from one pole to the other and everything in between.
The Importance of Travel
Travel isn’t just about visiting new places; it’s about creating memories. It’s about celebrating milestones, big and small. Whether it’s a family reunion, a romantic getaway, or a solo adventure, travel enriches our lives. It allows us to connect with different cultures and experiences.
Making Travel Accessible
I believe everyone deserves a chance to explore the world. That’s why I work hard to find the best deals and experiences for my clients. I want to make travel accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
Tips for Planning Your Next Vacation
Planning a vacation can be overwhelming. Here are some tips to make it easier:
Set a Budget: Decide how much you want to spend. This will help narrow down your options.
Choose Your Destination: Think about what you want from your trip. Relaxation, adventure, or cultural experiences?
Research: Look into different destinations, accommodations, and activities.
Book Early: The earlier you book, the better the deals you’ll find.
Stay Flexible: Sometimes, the best experiences come from unexpected changes in plans.
Embrace the Journey
Remember, travel is a journey, not just a destination. Embrace every moment, and don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone. You never know what amazing experiences await you!
Conclusion
So here we are, on this incredible journey. I’m grateful for the opportunity to help others discover the joy of travel. Let’s make your next vacation unforgettable!

We totally enjoyed our Anniversary Cruise and are so glad Andrew and Tracy are able to be "in-the-travel-business". Happy Travels everybody!!
Your story is inspiring! We are so glad we found you and have become our travel agent for current and future excursions. As it turns out, our next cruise to the Almafi Coast and Athens in May turns out to be a larger affair with 3 other couples joining us...this only happened because of your great services and always in a timely manner. Congrats to you and Tracy. Happy Travels!

What a beautiful story and interesting to know why and how you’ve become an amazing travel agent. You were so attentive to us on our travels and we look forward to working with you again as much as our ages and health allow. I too have survived breast cancer and uterine cancer, nearly 20 years ago. Congrats and best wishes to Tracy for her successful journey and may it never end. Thank you Andrew!
