Why I am in the Travel Business

These past few weeks, I was asked a number of times about our story that led me to be in the travel business. Sometimes you lose sight of what began the journey.
Tracy (my wife) and I had been married a few months when we found out that she had breast cancer. As one would expect, it was a stressful first year of marriage. As we neared our 1st anniversary, we knew we wanted to do something special to celebrate and to also celebrate Tracy being told the cancer was gone, after radiation and other drugs.
We both really had not traveled much beyond some mission trips and visiting friends or family. So we asked around, and a friend suggested going to Bermuda on a cruise. I had heard of Bermuda from TV shows and knew it sounded good. When Tracy told me that we would be leaving from Baltimore to cruise to Bermuda, I thought there must be a mistake since Baltimore appeared to be landlocked.

We went on the cruise and were in the lowest cabin category in an interior cabin, I presume close to the motors. We had a fantastic time. Tracy says we are not sure how we actually paid for it, but what a great celebration.
This started our love of cruising. In the next 3 years, Tracy saved and sold a lot of Mary Kay products to first take her parents and then mine on cruises, as we wanted to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversaries.

Then, as I had some time on my hands and Tracy wanted me to be more productive, I decided that since we had enjoyed travel so much and it had been awesome for us for celebrations and enjoying life events, I wanted to become a travel advisor to help others experience the same thing. That was late 2018.
Sometimes it is good to step back and remember what started the journey. What a journey it has been. I love helping people explore new places or to celebrate life.
So here we are now in the journey as I am a full-time travel advisor, having opportunities to go to new places all over the world, being asked to try out new vendors, resorts, and cruise ships. And helping others to experience and enjoy this incredible earth. Literally from one pole to the other and everything in between.

We totally enjoyed our Anniversary Cruise and are so glad Andrew and Tracy are able to be "in-the-travel-business". Happy Travels everybody!!
Your story is inspiring! We are so glad we found you and have become our travel agent for current and future excursions. As it turns out, our next cruise to the Almafi Coast and Athens in May turns out to be a larger affair with 3 other couples joining us...this only happened because of your great services and always in a timely manner. Congrats to you and Tracy. Happy Travels!

What a beautiful story and interesting to know why and how you’ve become an amazing travel agent. You were so attentive to us on our travels and we look forward to working with you again as much as our ages and health allow. I too have survived breast cancer and uterine cancer, nearly 20 years ago. Congrats and best wishes to Tracy for her successful journey and may it never end. Thank you Andrew!
